Bill’s career began with the Hershey Entertainment and Resort company in 1982, where he was promoted to Director of Golf and served a total of 17 years. During his service at the Hershey Entertainment and Resort Company, Bill completed all the required elements, including a professional thesis and became the youngest Master Professional in the PGA of America at age 32. He accepted a position at Royce Brook Golf as General Manager, a 36-hole corporate facility start-up, that climbed to the second highest ranked public golf facility in NY in just three years. Following Royce Brook, Bill became General Manager at the Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis CA. After five years in the Gold Country, Bill joined the team at Half Moon Bay Golf Links as General Manager in 2009. During his tenure at Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Bill earned the CCM designation from the CMAA of America, scoring in the top 5% of his class on the final exam. Bill will complete the CCE designation in 2021 and has a goal to become the only PGA or CMAA member to have Master status in the PGA and CMAA in the country. Bill was also elected to the Board of Directors at the NCPGA in the fall of 2011, and later elected as an officer, serving as President of the NCPGA in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, Bill was elected to the National Board of Directors of the PGA of America, serving as District Director for District 11, serving over 3,000 PGA members in Southern California PGA, Northern California PGA and the Aloha Section PGA. Bill has continued to serve on the National Education Committee for the PGA of America for the past 6 years and will chair the committee in 2021 and 2022. Locally, Bill enjoyed service on various foundation committees and Boards and was the architect of the Boys and Girls Club – Girls Golf Program and Mentoring program that began in 2013 and eventually evolved to the first girls golf team at Half Moon Bay High School. Outside of work, Bill enjoys time with his wife Merlyn, daughter Sophia and Son Jack.
